Знаеш , че дошли по някакав начин в София простите хора започват да имат големи претенции и да се мислят за голямото добрутро. Те са жалки и смешни. Имам толкова много приятели от страната , читави хора , които ценя и уважавам , а на такива комплексари не обръщам внимание. Изложбите са трън в очите на търговците защото там обективно се виждат качествата на птиците. Ако тук споделиш на някой колега за забелязани недостатъци при гълъбите му той ти става смъртен враг и по най- просташкия начин започва да те плюе. /благодарение на администратора повечето изцепки бързо се премахват/. Прекомерната възхвала на гълъби също не е полезна защото заблуждава колегите , които нямат възможност да си сверят часовниците. Има и още една категориа грандомани , които в същност са просто комплексари но те бързо се разпознават и игнорират. . |

Wurde aber von mir zum Zweck, die Altsteirer im Sichtungsverfahren auszustellen, am 1.1.2010 verfasst! Herkunft: Verbesserter Landschlag aus der Steiermark. Bedeutung: Frühreifes, bewegliches, kräftiges Landhuhn mit guter Legeleistung und Fleischnutzung sowie weißer Haut. Gesamteindruck: Mittelschwerer Landhuhntyp von kräftiger FIgur und mittlerer Größe. Breit und kaum mittelhoch im Stand. Mit auffallender Schopfbildung. Rassemerkmale Hahn: Rumpf: rechteckig gestreckt, breit, gut gerundet, Verhältnis-Tiefe-Breite 8:5:3 Hals: mit reichem Behang Rücken: lang, gerade leicht nach hinten abfallend Schultern: nicht hervortretend, gut gerundet Flügel: fest anliegend, Unterkante parallel zur Oberlinie, den Körper nicht überragend. Sattel: breit, seitlich gerundet ohne Kissenbildung Schwanz: voll und breit mit gut gebogenen Haupt- und reichlich Nebensicheln, hoch jedoch nicht steil getragen. Brust: breit und gut gewölbt Bauch: voll und gut entwickelt Kopf: fein geformt, mittelgroß Gesicht: rot, gut durchblutet, spärlich mit kleinen Federchen besetzt Kamm: mittelgroßer, aufrecht stehender, nach hinten ansteigender, fein gezackter Einfachkamm mit sechs bis acht Zacken und kurzer Fahne. Kopf möglichst klein mit ziemlich rundem, federreichem Schopf. Als besonderes Merkmal müssen die Altsteirerhennen den typischen Wickelkamm (Quetschfalte) tragen. Grober Knochenbau, Dreiecktyp, schmaler oder kurzer Rücken, flache oder schmale Brust, zu steil oder zu flach getragener Schwanz, zu enge, zu hohe oder zu tiefe Stellung, grob im Kopf und Kamm, fehlender Wickelkamm bei der Henne, fehlender Schopf, viel Rot in den Ohrscheiben. Farbenschläge: Wildbraun: Hahn: Kopf-, Schopf- u. Sattelbehang braunrot. Halsbehang braunrot mit mehr oder weniger, teils verdeckter, schwarzer Schaftstrichzeichnung. Rücken, Schultern und Flügeldecken dunkel- bis rotbraun. Handschwingen schwarz mit braunem Außenrand. Armschwingen innen schwarz, außen braun, das Flügeldreieck bildend. Flügelbinden schwarz mit Grünglanz Brust, Bauch und Schenkel schwarz. Schwanz schwarz mit käfergrünem Glanz. Grobe Fehler: Braune Einlagerungen auf Brust, Bauch und Schenkeln, zuviel Schwarz im Flügeldreieck. Zu helle Behänge. Schilf im Gefieder. Henne: Mantelgefieder wildbraun mit schwarzer Rieselung und scharfer, heller Nervzeichnung ohne Flitterbildung. Schopf in Anlehnung an das Mantelgefieder. Halsbehang goldbraun mit schwarzer Schaftstrichzeichnung. Brust dunkellachsfarbig. Schenkel und Bau etwas heller als die Brust, zum Aftergefieder hin grauer werdend. Geringe Unterschiede in der Grundfarbe und Zeichnung gestattet. Grobe Fehler: Zu helle Grundfarbe, sehr grobe Rieselung, fehlende Nervzeichnung, viel Rost auf den Flügeldecken, Flitterbildung. Schilf im Gefieder. Weiß: Hahn und Henne: Reines, glänzendes Weiß bei beiden Geschlechtern. Grobe Fehler: Gelber Anflug im Gefieder Gesperbert: * Jede Feder in mehrfachem Wechsel von Schwarz mit Lichtblau leicht bogig quer gebändert. Beim Hahn in gleicher Breite, bei der Henne sind die dunklen Federteile etwas breiter als die hellen. Die Zeichnung ist klar aber nicht scharf abgesetzt. Das Untergefieder nur schwach gezeichnet. Die Lauffarbe ist weiß bis fleischfarben, dunkle Einlagerungen gestattet. Grobe Fehler: Völlig verschwommene Zeichnung, gänzliches Fehlen der Sperberung in Steuerfedern und Sicheln. The chick needs calcium for skeletal mineralization and the egg laying hen has a higher demand for egg formation. From a nutritional viewpoint calcium is the most challenging mineral, because the requirement is extremely variable, depending on the pigeons physiological state, and because many foods are likely to be deficient in calcium. Feral pigeons, for example, have periods of very low calcium consumption and periods where calcium may be 5% to 8% of the diet—and higher in chicks. Calcium is one of the most metabolically active minerals and its metabolism is tightly regulated. Absorption: Dietary calcium is absorbed from the duodenum and the jejunum (beginning of the small intestines). The efficiency of absorption is controlled by the levels of the parathyroid hormone vitamin D3. When dietary levels of calcium are low, most calcium is absorbed by active transport. Without getting into the how active transport works, a low-calcium diet requires D3, but calcium rich diet uses diffusion-based pathways that are Vitamin D-independent. Calcium is absorbed in the ionic form (it has a positive charge) and inorganic forms such as calcium carbonate, limestone, oyster shell and phosphates are readily solubilized in the acidic environment of the gizzard and the stomach. Liquid forms are more soluble and thus more readily absorbed as are powdered solid forms (hawks and falcons need an especially acidic stomach environment to make the calcium in large bones bio-available andpigeons need time with large grit in the gizzard). Free fatty acids may form insoluble soaps with calcium, inhibiting its absorption. Phytic acid exists in some plants and seeds and these compounds can complex calcium and also complex calcium from other foods consumed at the time and renders them poorly digestible (1 mol of phytic acid can complex up to 6 mol of calcium to form insoluble phytates). Metabolism: Calcium constitutes more than a third of the total mineral content of an adult pigeon. The skeleton contains about 98% of a birds calcium, most of which is in the form of a chemical called hydroxyapatite. Bones not only serve a structural role but provide a pool of calcium, phosphate and other compounds. Though the hydroxyapatite form provides structural rigidity in bones it is also readily solubilized to provide minerals elsewhere in the body. Contrary to popular belief, the proportion of the body weight that is the skeleton is similar in birds and mammals. The required lightness of birds is achieved through design solutions not a loss in bone mass (teeth are not needed if you have a crop and a gizzard; a keel replaces a full rib cage, etc.). Across avian species, the proportion of body weight that is comprised of bone increases with size. In the hen, 25% of the calcium in the blood is free ionic Ca (+2), and the balance is bound to proteins (albumin), or complexed with citrate, phosphate, or sulfate. The low levels of calcium in the plasma of non laying birds are precisely regulated, because of their important role in intracellular communication, macro molecular interactions and blood clotting. This regulation is accomplished by the Vitamin D endocrine system. Information on skeletal development and egg development (Medullary bone; shell gland; embryo metabolism) may be forthcoming if there is an interest. It doesn’t matter how good a pigeon is or how well its fed an unhealthy pigeon will never be able to win a race. Occasionally, we will select some very interesting questions and answers concerning a certain topic and publish them on our homepage. So because health is so important and we get so many questions about it today’s topic is Ornithosis. Over few days several of my race team developed a swollen eye (lower eye lid). After a few days of medication the problem disappear. I am interested to know what this is. Is it caused by a virus? and what’s the best way to deal with it? This is most probably caused by the intracellular bacteria chlamydophila. The disease is often referred to as ornitosis. The medication is antibiotics mostly tetracyclines. Doxycyline is the best as it gets deep into the cells (that is where the bacteria causes the damage). It is very difficult though, to get the birds free from chlamydophila. Even 6 weeks of non stop treatment doesn’t clear all carriers of the disease. That’s why it is important for long term results that the environment (air circulation – loft construction) is good (prevention) and that the pigeons get some resistance of their own against the disease. Thank you and keep up the good work for our feathered friends. Airsacculitis (infection of the airsacs) can be caused by Chlamydia. Chlamydia is responsible for ornithosis. Doxycycline is a good choice for treating ornithosis. However you should keep in mind that respiratory problems are a multifactorial problem (stress, overcrowding, bad ventilation). Answered by: Johan van der Cruyssen Hello Dr, my problem is that whilst trying to swallow the food the pigeons stretch their neck and twist their stomachs. When flying around the loft they return with an open beak. I gave medication – doxycicline, tylosine, deworming for hair tape and round worms, vaccination for Salmonella pt (colombovac), e. coli, cancer. In the symptoms that you are giving there are 2 types of symptoms : 1/ After flying they are sitting with an open beak : This is typically a respiratory problem, normally ornithosis. This has to be treated with a course of 4 to 6 weeks with doxycycline. 2/ The second kind of symptoms wiilst eating could be also a problem of digestion , or an infected throat or stomach. So here I would treat with f.e. lincospectine for 10 days. So, if I have to advise, I would give them 10 days doxycycline + lincospectine together , and then a further 4 weeks on doxycycline alone. But to be honest , the best way to go forward is firstly to let me make an autopsy and analysis to know 100 % what the problem is. Answered by: Wim Boddaert |
